Physical Environment in Early Childhood & OSHC

The physical environment consists of the indoor and outdoor structure which includes gardens, furniture and play equipment. A safe supportive environment is important for the learning and development of children in Early Childhood and OOSH services. A well organised and safe environment allows for a child to grow and develops skills. The way the environment is set up can influence how the child acts and interacts with others. A poorly designed environment can cause children to become frustrated and bored. A well set up environment is organised with lots of space with designated areas for children to undertake activities. There should be enough activities and resources available and places for children to work on their special creations.
