Higher Level Skills

The Higher Level Skills program provides a government subsidy in selected certificate IV or above qualifications and priority skill sets to help individuals gain the higher level skills required to secure employment or career advancement in a priority industry.

What is the Higher Level Skills Program?

The Higher Level Skills program provides a government subsidy in selected certificate IV or above qualifications and priority skill sets to help individuals gain the higher level skills required to secure employment or career advancement in a priority industry.

ACCCO is a pre-qualified supplier approved by the Queensland Government to deliver publicly funded training and assessment. Please read the Department of Education and Training Student Fact sheet here.

What can I study with ACCCO?

CHC50113 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care

CHC40213 Certificate IV in Education Support

CHC50213 Diploma of School Age Education and Care

CHC62015 Advanced Diploma of Community Sector Management

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Certificate 3 Guarantee a participant must:

Aged 15 years or over

No longer at school

Not hold or be undertaking a Certificate level IV or higher qualification*

Be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or New Zealand citizen permanently residing in Queensland

*The Program is for any Queensland resident who does not already hold, or is not already enroled in, a post-school Australian certificate IV or higher level qualification this includes any equivalent certificate IV or higher level qualification irrespective of whether the qualification is through a university degree, apprenticeship or traineeship pathway. (Note: not including qualifications completed at school and foundation skills training.)

* FEE FREE for year 12 students graduating in 2017 under the ‘Year 12 Graduate Fee-Free’ Training Strategy.

Important information

Once you complete a qualification through this program you will no longer be eligible for further subsidised training under this program.

Am I eligible for Concession?

The following students are entitled to the concession rate on course fees:

  • the student holds a Health Care or Pensioner Concession Card issued under Commonwealth law, or is the partner or a dependant of a person who holds a Health Care or Pensioner Concession Card and is named on the card
  • the student is an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander
  • the student has a disability
  • the student is an adult prisoner.

*Proof of eligibility for concession must be demonstrated prior to the commencement of training. If the concession is valid for the full enrolment period, then all eligible units commenced within that period attract the concession rate. If the concession is valid for part of the enrolment period, then only eligible units commenced prior to the expiry of the concession attract the concession rate.
